8 Weeks and a few Tweaks!

Over the last couple of months you may have noticed that we've been integrating and tweaking various chat configurations. And today I'm happy to say it looks like we've pretty much got the system that works best for Empire Avenue in place and working.

It's been an interesting 8 weeks, but since the earlier blog post introduced chat, some things have changed. I'll outline the main feature set below.

Site-wide chat
If you're not on a community page, you'll have access to site-wide chat. You'll know you're in site-wide chat by the blue chatbar, and the four standard Empire Avenue chat rooms:

  • [X] Bar
A hosted chat managed by experienced Empire Avenue veterans who, it's believed, belong to a secret society or lodge -- perhaps the Loyal Order of Waterbuffalo.
  • Help for New Users
Self explanatory. Discussion in this room is focused around assisting newcomers to the Avenue.
  • Investment Advice
Here's another chat room where you can discuss investment strategies and tactics. Rules are looser here than other rooms, but please refrain from promoting your own stock; for that we have the next room...
  • "Buy Me"
Here's where you get to convince me to invest in you. Invite me into a chat here. Bring your potential investors and hold an informal discusson as to why your stock is worth my Eaves.

Community specific chat
Each community has the ability to host one private (to that community) chat. Community Admins have the ability to create and moderate the chat within their own community. Empire Avenue Terms and Conditions of service and Chat Etiquette still apply, of course.

FAQ-tually speaking
To help introduce you to chat, and understand Empire Avenue's position on it, and to introduce you to the concept of Empire Avenue Chat Moderators, we've created this handy and helpful FAQ.

And if you've got questions or comments about Chat, please feel free to ping one of the Chat Moderators (you'll know them because their in-chat Ticker is Green), or http://www.empireavenue.com/support
